Throughout this course I have learned about many new technology programs that can be helpful for teaching. Even though technology can be a scary thing if we learn to use it the right way it will be very helpful for us. There are many useful ways that these technologies can be used in the classroom. Wikis, Blogs, Google Docs, Google Earth, Movie Maker and much more all these programs can be helpful in moving towards technology in the classroom.
Before this class I did not know anything about Google Docs, Blogger, Google Earth, Movie Maker, and Diigo. I am glad that I was introduced to these programs because there is allot that can be done with them. For example in my classroom I will most likely use Google Docs, Diigo for research projects, and use movie maker to put a new spin on some projects. Audacity was also an awesome tool that I will use while teaching my students about movie maker. I defiantly know that I will not be using wikis, as I was not a fan of how this program was put together. I also won’t be using twitter in my classroom because I think I would distract them and become more of a social network.
After taking this class my thoughts about technology have changed a lot. Before I was against it because I didn’t think I was a safe place to have children browsing around. But I have learned a lot of things that would be safe for my students to use. These programs can be helpful to the teacher as well as engaging for the students. For the future I would probably just want to make sure the technology that I use in my classroom is safe for all my students to use.

Google Earth
I think GOOGLE EARTH has changed a lot these last few years. The additions I like the most are the flight simulator and the shipwrecked addition. During this scavenger I learned how to use the time line tool which I thought is useful when wanting to find out how much things have changed in between the pictures. The scavenger activity I also found interesting was the Fly to Haiti and look at the difference in landscapes from before January 12th and after the 12. It is interesting that you can see the rubble created from the destroyed buildings.

Twitter In the Classroom
I think that twitter should be used in classrooms but only in lecture classrooms. This will aid in the clarification of a certain question. Not all people are comfortable talking in front of some 300 people and I think that Twitter could be a useful tool for this problem. It is also a good way to record thoughts and ideas that you search, or even takes simple notes with. Twitter connects you to a larger world outside of the classroom and even the country. It can also be a useful for last minute or important alerts that a teacher might need to send out. Every day the world is becoming more technological and this is one way that might be a future help into education. If I were to use twitter in my classroom I would have my students have a private account so that what we share can be kept between us. Also I would recommend that my whole class participate so everyone can be on the same page.
How I rate Google Docs
I my own personal opinion Google Docs are great tools. There is so much that you can use them for. Also I like how it saves to the internet so you can always access them if you have access to the internet. This is a useful tool for cooperative projects; everyone can have access to them that you share with. I believe Google Docs is a very creative site for me as I will be a future teacher. One disadvantage I see with Google Docs is that that they are so behind on the latest techniques that other programs use, there is not as many tools as the competitor programs.
